I have invested 21 years in public education, 7 years in band directing, and 14 years in educational leadership. I began my teaching career as a band director in Kosciusko, Mississippi, where I was the junior high band director and assisted with the high school band program. I spent the next seven years working in school administration with the Starkville School District in Starkville, Mississippi, where I was an assistant principal at the elementary and junior high campuses. I have served as an assistant principal for Magnolia ISD with Nichols Sawmill Elementary (2015-2018) and Bear Branch Intermediate (2018-2019). From 2019 to 2021, I served as the principal of Bear Branch Elementary.
My wife, Brittany, is a ninth-grade English teacher at Magnolia High School. We have three children (Nic 11, Molly 4, and Daniel 1). I love reading books on leadership and historical fiction. I enjoy playing bass guitar with the "Charlie Riley Band." I am a huge fan of college sports. One of my "pipe dreams" was to be a Professional League Baseball Umpire.
I am honored and humbled to work with GREAT people who have shown me what it takes to succeed. What is so incredible about this position is that I work alongside educators who showcase their strengths in preparing students for the next grade level. Learning how to leverage those strengths to achieve our school's vision is what makes leadership worthwhile and engaging.
